Feeding and Sleeping Routines

Routine

Why is it super helpful to have a unique routine for your baby:

  • Babies who eat and sleep on a regular schedule are more likely to be well-rested and alert. When babies are well-rested, they are better able to learn and grow. They are also less likely to be fussy or irritable.
  • Babies who have a regular feeding and sleeping schedule are easier for parents and caregivers to care for. This can help parents feel more confident and relaxed.
  • Establishing a feeding and sleeping routine can also help babies develop a healthy relationship with food and sleep. This can benefit them throughout their lives.
  • Routines can help babies feel more secure and comfortable. When babies know what to expect, they feel more in control and less anxious.
  • Routines can make it easier for parents to care for their babies. When parents know what to expect, they can be more prepared and less stressed.
  • A good routine can help babies sleep better at night.

Different personality type babies need a routine unique to them. You can’t use a one size fits all approach.

You can get an outgoing, strong willed baby who has a big FOMO and needs very little sleep, or a chilled baby, where you can just put them down without rocking or feeding…the more they sleep in the day, the more they sleep at night. Some babies love a very structured routine and others are more flexible.

Different personality parents can also affect the type of sleepers they produce. Don’t we all wish we had known this before we got married?!

I had two little sleep fighters myself and can help you with all the tricks you need. I can also guide you through when to expect sleep regressions and how to navigate them.

I use Gentle Sleep Solutions and personalised routines to help you with your unique baby.

Gentle Sleep Solutions

Gentle sleep solutions focuses on helping babies and young children learn to sleep well without any crying.

Babies need to feel safe, secure and loved in order to sleep well, and crying is a natural way for babies to make their needs known. In the parenting stages, this attachment stage (from 0-18 months) is the most important time in developing trust. This will serve them in future relationships for the rest of their lives.

Here are some of the benefits of gentle sleep solutions:

  • They are less stressful for babies and parents. Gentle sleep solutions do not involve any crying, so they are less stressful for babies and parents. This can make the process of creating a sleep routine more enjoyable for everyone involved.
  • They can improve the quality of sleep for both babies and parents. When babies sleep well, they are better able to learn and grow. They are also less likely to be fussy or irritable. When parents sleep well, they are better able to care for their babies and to function at work and home, and are subsequently also less fussy and grumpy 🙂

Gentle sleep solutions are more likely to be successful in the long run than more traditional methods, such as cry-it-out. This is because gentle sleep solutions help babies learn to sleep independently without any negative associations.

If you are having trouble with baby’s sleep and routine, I can help. I can help you with a unique routine for your baby’s personality type, and help you make sure that you are doing everything you can to help your baby sleep well.
