The Benefits of Jungle Juice for Breastfeeding Recipe & Tips

Jungle Juice Recipe

Breastfeeding can be really challenging in the early days, but remember that it is a learned skill for you and your baby. Some mummies use Galactagogues (substances that boost breast milk production) to enhance their milk supply… jungle juice is a top choice.

If Baby is willing to latch and suck, and does not have nipple confusion, we can always build up your supply. Things like demand feeding, resting, eating regularly, oats, lactation cookies and Jungle Juice are a great way of doing that. Jungle juice helps to build up your milk supply, keeps your energy levels up, and make sure that you are properly hydrated.

You can pack all of your ingredients into your hospital bag as Jungle Juice is great to get started with, from the get go.

Ingredients:

Method:

  1. Mix all the ingredients together in a 3 L container.
  2. Drink a glass with every feed.

The rehydrate helps maintain your electrolytes, and the Berry Elixir boosts your energy while supporting your milk supply. Adding 10 drops of Rescue Remedy to each glass can help keep you calm during this period.

Low-Sugar Option

If you’re concerned about the sugar content in fruit juice, there’s a reduced sugar option. Try mixing the Berry Elixir with rooibos tea or swirl it into plain yogurt (delicious!). Don’t forget to drink a glass of water with every feed to stay hydrated.

Surviving Growth Spurts with Jungle Juice

During early growth spurts, your baby may feed hourly, leaving little time for breaks. These spurts can last for hours, and you might hear your baby making little grunting noises. During this time, it’s best to relax, put your feet up, and have a “pyjama week” with your baby.

Drink your Jungle Juice, feed on demand, and trust that “this too shall pass.” Remember to keep Jungle Juice at the top of your list to help you through these whirlwind early weeks!

You’re Doing Amazing, Mom!

You’ve got this, mom! Stay strong, drink your Jungle Juice, and enjoy the beautiful bonding experience of breastfeeding.

With love,
Sr Andrea
